The Lumin T2 marks the first redesign of the classic A1/T1 models. After the D1 and the S1, the A1/T1 models are also due for a remake. The new T2 Lumïn streamer combines a sturdy CNC panel construction with X1 technology to deliver the best possible performance for this price point.

The chassis was completely redesigned for the T2. It is made of solid aluminum CNC panels that are invisibly connected to each other. Like Lumïn’s reference player, the X1, the front is elegantly curved and accommodates the dimmable or even switchable display.

The connections on the back are recessed in the chassis, keeping them out of sight. In addition to the electronics, the chassis also houses the internal power supply. Both the electronics and the power supply can work undisturbed thanks to the excellent shielding of the robust housing.

Lumïn is among a select group of manufacturers that develop and manufacture everything in-house. In addition to the hardware, such as the digital data processor, the necessary processing software and control app are also developed in-house to ensure optimal alignment.

This is a real advantage compared to manufacturers who source ‘streamers’ from third parties and have to implement them in their own equipment. This often leads to compromises and/or adjustments that can affect the sound quality or ease of use.

Lumin T2 high-end streamer

For the Lumin T2 high-end streamer, a new processor was developed that offers DSD512 and 384kHz playback. Paired with a dual ES9028PRO SABRE D/A converter, a high-quality and audiophile signal path is realized. To ensure that the digital data stay in sync, a high-quality and discreet clock system is used.

Accurate timing, essential for audio quality, is thus guaranteed. Of course, the entire design is fully balanced and only high-quality components are used.

The analog output buffer circuit has been completely redesigned and offers not only ‘audiophile’ output capacitors but also extremely low noise and high dynamic range.

The entire system is powered by a high-quality low-noise dual-stage power supply with a switching design. Not only is the internal power supply housed in a separate metal enclosure, but the power supply itself is also enclosed in a cage of perforated metal to immediately suppress any interfering influences.

The Lumin T2 also features a precise 32-bit digital volume control, allowing for easy volume adjustment via the Lumïn app without compromising sound quality. There is also a USB digital audio output that offers audio data in the highest bit and sample rates to an external DAC with a matching input.

Like all other Lumïn players, the T2 offers numerous features that make streaming music a highly enjoyable activity. The T2 plays all (high-resolution) audio files you can think of (MQA full decoding, Roon Ready, Spotify Connect, MQA, TIDAL, Qobuz, Airplay, and TuneIn). Additionally, PCM & DSD resampling provides full control over the bit and sample rates of your music files.

The setup menu allows the user to set various properties of the Lumïn streamer, as well as control the app itself, enhancing functionality and ease of operation for a positive music experience.
