The Van Den Hul The FIRST Ultimate mkII is a triple heavier shielded version of our highly acclaimed classic The FIRST® MKII (the world’s first METAL-FREE interconnect) and is designed for the highest quality (unbalanced/asymmetric) line level audio.

In addition to the many highly innovative technical aspects of this product, the sonic aspects are even more appealing: especially the absence of dynamic compression at higher signal levels, the extensive low-level information, and the total lack of any harshness make this cable so different from any other known product so far.

And for critical listeners with high demands on spatial representation, this is your definitive choice; no other product produced so far provides as much spatial information as the FIRST® Ultimate MKII.

The basic conductor material is Linear Structured Carbon ® (LSC). The coaxially constructed The FIRST® Ultimate MKII has an LSC center conductor with 12,000 individually insulated strands of 7 microns each with a total diameter of 1 mm.

The individual strand insulation prevents electrons from jumping from fiber to fiber. The direct result is that electrons move exclusively in one dimension through the 7-micron strands. Lateral movements are almost impossible. This prevents many audio problems. Sonic result: a much cleaner sound reproduction.

The insulation of the center core is made of polyethylene foam. To achieve low capacitance between the inner and outer group with minimal dielectric absorption. Unlike our The FIRST®, the outer braid of The FIRST® Ultimate, which acts as a shield and signal return, is made of 6 (instead of 2) layers of braided LSC fibers. Together 114,000 individually insulated fibers.
