Sugden LA4

The Sugden LA4 Class ‘A’ Preamplifier is a stereo line-level preamplifier with authority, finesse, and the ability to develop a soundstage with imaging, dimensional reality, and time/space elements in perfect harmony. The primary function of the preamplifier is to deliver more music with neutrality, allowing end-users to choose from collaborative components and obtain customized performance.

The LA-4 is developed as a complement to the Sugden Masterclass Power Amplifiers and features dual mono, DC-coupled, Class ‘A’, current feedback amplification stages at its core. The electronic circuitry of the Sugden LA4 is designed to provide the best possible sonic performance without compromises, using specially selected transistors and capacitors to offer the best signal preservation.

Attention to detail includes gold-plated circuit boards, high-quality silver signal cabling, components soldered with silver, and precision gold-plated relay switching. Each amplification stage is powered by current diverting differential supplies, enabling the fastest transients and most powerful crescendos with true musical empathy.

Assembly

Each Sugden LA4 is individually handcrafted by a single highly skilled technician. Each sub-assembly undergoes testing before final assembly, is ‘run-in’, and undergoes a final specification check before packaging, ensuring you a product of the highest quality.

The LA-4 features provisions for pairs of balanced inputs (XLR), four single-ended Phono/RCA inputs, a By-Pass input, input and output recording capability, two main preamplifier outputs, and a balanced output (XLR).
