Sugden A21 Signature
The first commercial Sugden amplifier was the A21 in the mid-1960s. It is widely recognized as the first commercial, solid state, pure class A amplifier available to enthusiasts. It was a very special amplifier with a single-ended class A output configuration and with current feedback. This concept was not generally included in commercial audio amplifiers until more than a decade later.
Being able to recreate a musical performance in an innovative way made the name of Sugden synonymous with musical performance. The true potential of the output configuration was realized in the 1980s when it was paired with modern components, reduced internal filtering, and multi-emitter solid-state output devices.
The Sugden A21 Signature pure class ‘A’ design offers affordable high-end performance from a beautifully designed single-box integrated amplifier. Compact in size with a simple yet stylish design, the A21 Signature might be the only amplifier you’ll ever need. With many of the original A21s still in daily use after fifty years, it could also last a lifetime.
