Musical Fidelity A1

The Musical Fidelity A1 is an integrated amplifier that was first released in the 1980s. This compact amplifier did not excel in power, but in operation. The Musical Fidelity A1 operated in class A, and the revised version also does.

In 2023, Musical Fidelity revived the A1. While maintaining the appearance and charm of the original A1 Integrated Amplifier, it returns to its past with the reissue of this classic amplifier. The revised A1 builds on the original circuits with modern improvements and superior components.

Key Features:

Class A operation: The output stages use robust and durable complementary flat audio transistors.

Power: 25 watts per channel at an eight-ohm load.

IR remote control: The old version did not have an IR remote control, but nowadays it is essential.

Phono preamplifier: Built-in high-quality phono preamplifier with an accuracy of +/- 1 dB of the RIAA curve.

Preamplifier: Low-noise TL071 JFET preamplifier circuit is identical to the original design of the first version of the A1.

Output stage: The output stage operates dynamically in class A. If the maximum current is exceeded, class A operation is left and more is allowed through.

Power supply: The transformer used in the A1 comes with dual mono split rail windings.
