Focal Bathys

At Focal, sound quality comes first. Therefore, the development of a wireless headphone with ANC has taken some time. Although a wireless headphone had already been released (Listen Wireless), the Focal Bathys is of a completely different caliber. Like all Focal headphones, the ‘M’-shaped membrane is used here as well.

For the Bathys, Aluminium/Magnesium is used, resulting in truly high-fidelity sound, especially with the additional DAC function. Closed-back headphone with active noise cancelling (ANC).

Focal Bathys – DAC

The internal DAC gives the Bathys a “High Resolution” function in 24bits/192kHz. When connected via USB, the sound from a computer will be processed in this high resolution.

Focal Bathys – Connections

In addition to the USB-C connection (for DAC and charging), the 3.5mm jack is still present, as it is a widely used connection. The wireless part (if you can call it a connection) is in Bluetooth® 5.1 Multipoint with codecs SBC, AAC, aptX™ Adaptive, aptX™, providing good compatibility.

Focal Bathys – Materials

Sturdy and durable materials are used, with Magnesium brackets, leather finish on the headband, and an aluminum sliding mechanism. The easily replaceable ear cushions are convenient.

Focal Bathys – Assistants & App

A wireless headphone wouldn’t be complete without the virtual assistants. Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant are available. iPhone compatibility is also official. Of course, there is an App that provides access to detailed settings.

Focal Bathys – Charging

With “Fast charging,” you can get an extra 5 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes. With a full charge, the wireless headphone with ANC can be active for around 30 hours.
