Since 1987, Purist Audio Design has been recognized as one of the most innovative manufacturers of audiophile cables. The company’s founder, Jim Aud, originally a nuclear physicist, is particularly known for his development of liquid and gel dielectrics that surround and shield the conductors of noble metals and alloys in the Purist Audio Design interconnects and speaker cables. The same techniques are also applied to the PAD power cords and digital and video cables. PAD was also one of the first high-end audio manufacturers to start using cryogenic and other material treatments to enhance conductivity in their cable designs. These techniques are also applied to the wide range of highest quality adapters for RCA and XLR connections, as well as BNC and Y connectors.
